Three who starred on Day 3 of Broncos training camp.
Isaiah McKenzie, WR. The rookie receiver flashed his speed and quickness in special teams and in the slot. So far, he appears to have a firm hold on the punt-return job.
Trevor Siemian, QB. The third-year quarterback, vying for the starting job, had arguably his finest day on the field yet, hitting Emmanuel Sanders for a pair of long touchdowns in the left corner of the end zone during 7-on-7s.
DeMarcus Walker, DE. The Broncos’ second-round draft pick rushed in from the defensive backfield and deflected a pass from Paxton Lynch during team drills. “I like how he’s playing,” nose tackle Domata Peko said. “He’s really quick, he’s agile and he brings some good moves in there on the pass rush.”
THEY SAID IT
Quotables from Day 3 of camp:
OT Menelik Watson, on OLB Kasim Edebali: “Kasim can be a monster. I think he can be whatever he puts his mind to. The kid has got incredible girth, and he’s got incredible intelligence, great hands, great feet. He’s putting it together and he’s only going to get better.”
OLB Vontarrius Dora, on implications of Shane Ray‘s injury: “Next man up. An opportunity for me but I’m just going to work my butt off for that spot.”
NT Domata Peko on his health: “If you never get out of shape, there’s no reason to try to get back in shape. Just stay in shape the whole time and you’ll be fine. Going against some of these young dudes, it’s always a challenge, it’s always fun and that’s what I love to do.”
