Kevin Lundberg, a top GOP state lawmaker, joins crowded primary for Colorado treasurer

State Sen. Kevin Lundberg, a top GOP lawmaker at the Colorado Capitol, is jumping into the now-crowded Republican primary for state treasurer.

“I’m running for treasurer to protect your wallet,” the Berthoud legislator said in announcing his run over the weekend.

Lundberg, who sits on the Colorado General Assembly’s powerful Joint Budget Committee, is the fourth Republican to enter the race, following fellow state lawmakers Justin Everett and Polly Lawrence and Routt County Treasurer Brita Horn into the contest.
