An area of Moss Side in Manchester has been evacuated as part of a search linked to Monday’s bomb attack.

It comes as police continue their investigation into the bombing, which killed 22 people.

The evacuation is a precautionary measure to “ensure everyone’s safety” Greater Manchester Police said.

It came as armed police prepared to guard hundreds of events across the UK this bank holiday weekend following a security review.

Senior officers encouraged people to go out, but to remain vigilant, on the first holiday weekend with the national threat level at critical, its highest.

Security is being increased at football cup finals at Wembley and Hampden Park and the Great Manchester Run.

Detectives are questioning 11 men over the attack.

Prime Minister Theresa May is chairing an emergency Cobra meeting, having left the G7 in Sicily early.
